The Legend of Carpets in INDIA
Carpets are one of the most popular accessories for the décor, whether it is home, offices, hotels, or even shops. Designs and color combination used in the carpets are keeping change with the time and fashion. Indian Carpets are famous in all over the world for its wonderful designs, subtle elegance, eye-catching color combinations, and for its workmanship. Because of the superlative weaving and the intricate patterns that emerged from it have substantially increased Indian carpet export and to be found significantly in the international market map. The great mughal emperor Akbar brought the carpet weaving in India in 16th century. Once the great mughal emperor Akbar brought some Persian carpet weavers to his own place Agra and since then they settled in India only. But the commercial production started after the independence. During the Mughal period, some of the most excellent carpets were created. Each carpet was exclusive and impart with the magic of colors and design. Gradually those artists became expert and every knot tied by them giving a touch of artistic beauty to his creations. In India the technique of carpet weaving is influenced by the Persian style. Following fabrics are used in India for handmade carpets are silk, wool and synthetic fibre.
